Our main inspiration for the sound in this show was Tik Tok, and the way that creators take sounds from their original context and transform them to bring out new meaning. We also knew that music would be a huge part of the show, so we decided to use music that was either trending on Tik Tok, or felt like it fit on that platform.

We decided to choose a few songs to work from for the show, and use them in different ways as the show went on. Since the show is about female and trans strength, we wanted to make sure that the music represented the actors, characters, and messaging of the show. The songs that we worked from were Boys by Charli XCX, Townie by Mitski, Deceptacon by Le Tigre, and Transparent Soul by WILLOW. We also wanted a song to represent the sensitive guys in the show, and for that we chose The Less I Know the Better by Tame Impala.
